The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) is seeking dynamic, progressive candidates with a focus on delivering premier customer service with innovative ideas and solutions for the Office of Civil Rights and Fair Practices.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator is to provide high level of support to the MVA Office of Civil Rights and Fair Practices.
This position helps the agency ensure departmental compliance and consistency with the MVA EEO/ADA programs.
This position will have full responsibility for providing complex administrative support.
Additionally, this position will support the end-to-end ADA administrative process for MVA.
The EEO Coordinator performs assigned administrative responsibilities involving the analysis and interpretation of data, policies, and situations.
Under the direction of the EEO Program Manager, Director, and EEO Officers this position will help to support solutions and alternative to ADA and EEO employee/customer concerns and the resolution of ADA and EEO concerns.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the EEO Officer in the end-to-end ADA administrative processes which may include reviewing, documentation, preparing approval, denial, status letters, etc.
Handling administrative duties that support the ADA process Communicating with employees, customers, and applicants regarding their status in the process and completes any follow-up after accommodations are implemented Communicating concerns from facilities and risk management to ensure that meeting, conference rooms, lunchrooms, and employment tests are accessible proactively and in response to customers, applicants, and employee concerns.
Under the direction of the EEO Program Manager, the EEO Coordinator supports the process to resolve such concerns Training managers, supervisors, and employees on disability laws, and MVA reasonable accommodation process Administering EEO New Employee Orientation, and other EEO related trainings Working closely with other staff in the Office of Civil Rights and Fair Practices to support the administrative process in documenting and closing EEO and ADA cases.
Helping prepare correspondence related to EEO investigations and ADA cases (approvals, denials, memos, etc.
) Overseeing daily administrative operations for the office including but not limited to scheduling appointments, coordinating invoices for approval, maintaining the credit card log, ensuring adequate materials are ordered for the office's needs, and assuring timely responses are made to customers inside and outside of the administration Overseeing maintenance of designated office files ensuring that correspondence files are categorized properly.
Responsible for creating new files and retiring out of date files according to the retention schedule Conducting visits to MVA Branch Offices and Warehouse (ADA, Training, Investigations, and other EEO-related activities Making travel arrangements to include registration for conference, arrange airline reservations, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and any other travel-related requirements Collecting and analyzing workforce utilization data to create and distribute reports The current vacancy exists at the MVA Headquarters in Glen Burnie, Maryland (Anne Arundel County).
This position is a hybrid position and allows for combination of telework and in-office work.

Qualifications Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
One (1) year experience in administrative or professional work.
One (1) year experience must include completing secretarial work for a Human Resources or Equal Employment Opportunity office.
Position Specific and Selective Qualification Recruitments are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skill or ability).
No substitution is allowed for a selective qualification.

Additional experience as defined above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Additional graduate-level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations, or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
Licenses & Certifications Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
Must complete Driver Improvement Program every two years.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
